A NOTE FROM THE GALLERY CURATOR
“I fell in love with Mahyar’s work right away. I attended his solo show in January 2020 that was a great success and got a chance to know the artist and the process behind his work. Mahyar is very creative and talented. I remember how we discussed the silkscreen printing processes that he meticulously researched in order to learn how to bring his own artistic vision to life. Along with silkscreening, Amiri has been trying his hand at various other mediums — neon glass lights mounted on resin collages of comics pulled from vintage Marvel books, Banksy-esque hand-painted murals found scattered around the GTA, and warped records painted with acrylic iconic images of Elton John and The Beatles. He puts a lot of thought into each piece, making it unique as well as produced with the highest quality materials to extend the longevity of his works. The unique style and vibrant colors of a pop painting will enliven any space! Pop Art is a bold & eye-catching home décor style, full of personality & playful cultural references. If you are looking for an investment piece from one of the most sought-after emerging artists in Toronto - this is your time!”
