"Afternoon Voyage" was inspired by the beauty of the west coast.   But more importantly, it's about trying to capture the sense of peace and tranquillity that one feels when being surrounded by water and mountains.

The artistic journey is just that - a journey.  Where elements from the past lead to exciting new ideas for the future. For me, my work has evolved from a hard-edge geometric style to softer, abstract landscapes. This evolution was a result of trying to figure out new ways to take the elements of the earlier paintings that I loved but create something fresh. For some, it may seem like a dramatic change but for me, it was a subtle shift. This new direction conveys the feelings of calm and serenity I wanted to achieve with the geometric style but even more so now."

Canadian Toronto-based artist Lori Fonger transitioned into a full-time artistic career after having spent over 20 years working as a consumer insight specialist within the financial sector. Her goal is to create art that provides a feeling of calm and serenity - a respite from the challenges and stresses that we all deal with on a daily basis. As a result Fonger's art often incorporates a soft monochromatic colour palette along with unique textures.
