"Thoughts of Dusk" is a cold wax & oil painting on panel with varied textures and multiple layers. Bold colours are mixed with subdued, to create an ethereal atmosphere, similar to when dusk slowly settles but the day is still present.

In my work, I go beyond recreating physical landscapes; I delve into the essence of these natural spaces, seeking to capture the emotional and sensory experiences they evoke. This approach aligns with the theme of renewal, as it highlights the impact nature has on our inner selves and the sense of rejuvenation it can create. While painting, I immerse myself in memories such as arid deserts, lush rainforests, and the wild beauty of seascapes, with the goal of creating art that has a sense of nostalgia and renewal. Like nature, our inner worlds are also multi-layered and full of hidden wonders waiting to be uncovered. I hope my paintings invite viewers to pause, reflect, and find renewal."

Jennifer Lecour is a Canadian abstract artist who creates oil and cold wax paintings. Born in England and raised in Canada, she was drawn to the remoteness and beauty of Pender Island, a small island off the coast of British Columbia where she now lives. Jenn initially trained and practiced as a lawyer but changed careers to follow her true passion of creating art. After experimenting with different mediums, she discovered that using cold wax medium with oil paint was the perfect fit for her unique style which is inspired by her exploration and love of nature.
