“Colour Blast” is a bright, bold mixed-media abstract painting on canvas. Inspired by spending time with my 5-year-old granddaughter, feelings of happiness, fresh new paints, birthday cake, blowing bubbles, and a sunny day. I’ve used many layers of acrylic paint, gesso, house paint, China marker, wax pastels, and pencil. The sides of the canvas are painted white. The Painting is varnished, wired and ready to hang. Signed on the back so that the painting may hang horizontally or vertically.
My mixed media abstract paintings are optimistic. They are a journey into my imagination. As an introvert, my inner world is where I’m always most at home. With paint on canvas and paper, I escape into a place of beauty, joy, and magic. Each painting consists of layer upon layer of acrylic paint, sometimes with the addition of other media such as graphite, wax crayon, china marker, house paint, and collage papers. These works are intuitive in nature: as I work I combine spontaneity with an intention to create a pleasing harmonious balance."
