"L'heure Fugitive," 48" x 36"
Oil on cradled wood panel.
48 x 36 x 1.75 in.
"This work depicts a man almost held into his lover’s arms. A narrow distance between them suggests an inevitable separation. The upper part of the painting painted in light blue evokes lightness in the feigned proximity of the couple, whereas the bottom part emphasizes on the weight of solitude. Sentiment of sorrow in this piece is enhanced by the dripping background."
Self-taught figurative painter Tania Hillion is interested in the place occupied by the image of memory. The memory we want to leave or the memory we have of others and situations that strike us.
"As long as I can remember, I have always been marked by the diversity of faces: The differences that make us uniquely human, but also those that inhabit our own identities. The face is the world’s first witness to our existence, it reveals as much as it conceals. It tells a story from which everyone can have their own interpretation. It is an inexhaustible subject.
