This richly textured painting is a celebration of spring’s arrival in British Columbia, captured through Anastasia’s signature multilayer oil technique. Working intuitively and with great passion, she applied three thick, expressive layers of oil paint, blending the colors directly on the canvas. The result is a deeply tactile surface—lush, vibrant, and alive with movement.

As the Vancouver landscape awakened after a long winter, Anastasia set out to preserve its fleeting beauty. Every brushstroke echoes her reverence for nature and her gratitude for the chance to witness such renewal. “I feel incredibly blessed,” she says, “to be surrounded by this natural splendor and to express it through my work.” This piece is more than a landscape—it is a love letter to the Pacific Northwest in bloom, and a vivid reminder of how nature stirs the soul.

Award-winning Seattle-based oil painter Anastasia Fedorova creates unique multilayer oil paintings using the traditional Renaissance Italian technique impasto. Her oil paintings have many layers of different oil paintings. Sometimes there could be up to six layers, which she paints one on top of another. Her unique technique allows her to achieve incredible depth in her oil paintings and makes her works full of vivid and sumptuous colours.
