Part of the “Choice” collection.

I created this work as a reflection on moments when we feel trapped by circumstances and unable to see a way forward. The Tower of Babel became a symbol of recurring human patterns, while the airplane connects the ancient story with contemporary life. The boat and the ladder represent possibilities that remain available even when we cannot recognize them. The painting is about doubt, choice, and the hidden paths that exist beyond our immediate perception.

Choice is a conceptual painting project that explores themes of morality, personal responsibility, emotional transformation, and the search for meaning in contemporary life. Through symbolic imagery, reduced visual language, and text written in Old English, the project creates contemplative spaces encouraging slower reflection and inner dialogue with the viewer. The works are rooted in personal experience, migration, the rebuilding of identity, and the psychological weight of human decisions in modern society. Rather than offering fixed narratives, the paintings remain open to interpretation, inviting viewers to contront their own emotional and philosophical associations.”

Russian-born, Dubai-based artist Olga Puzikova creates personal and concept-driven work focused on meaning, transformation, and the relationship between emotion and form. A significant turning point in her practice came through migration and the process of rebuilding life from scratch in a new cultural environment while caring for a young child.

This experience deeply reshaped Olga’s perspective and became a powerful catalyst for artistic development, fundamentally transforming her approach to image-making and meaning. It marked what she describes as a complete reorientation of my creative language. Now based in Dubai, her perspective continues to evolve through ongoing cultural transition, which informs both my artistic language and conceptual direction.
