In my Sawdust Collection, sawdust carries the memory of forests, grounding each work in the textures of the earth. Vibrant colors echo the beauty of thriving reefs, while subtle fading hints at the bleaching of sea corals, a reminder of nature’s fragility. These work reflects how growth and transformation are rooted in our connection to the natural world, even in its most vulnerable moments.

"I work with acrylics and mixed media, often incorporating unconventional materials to create tactile, layered surfaces that echo the complexity and vitality of nature. My palette is intentionally bold, reflecting the kaleidoscopic beauty of coral reefs, autumnal forests, and the intricate patterns of the animal kingdom. I believe that art has the power not only to captivate but also to inspire meaningful conversations about our responsibility to the environment. Ultimately, my goal is to create works that uplift, inspire, and remind us of the beauty and fragility of the world we share."

Inspired from childhood by the wonders of National Geographic and Animal Planet, Vidhya Srijesh’s creative journey is rooted in a deep appreciation for the world’s ecosystems and the vibrant energy they embody. Her practice is defined by a bold use of color, dynamic textures, and a playful experimentation with materials including acrylics and unconventional elements such as sawdust.
