Blue One, 32" x 30"
Oil on Canvas.
Award-winning Vancouver-based oil painter Anastasia Fedorova creates unique multilayer oil paintings using traditional Renaissance painterly technique and Italian technique impasto.
“The painting is a conceptualized view of the imaginary meadow full of colourful red poppy flowers with one of them being blue. This work speaks about identity and individuality in our society, and how it can be challenging sometimes to be different from others. In this painting, I also celebrate diversity and its importance in our society.
“Blue One” is very colourful with an extremely thick and rich texture. I was using a traditional multilayer technique along with the Italian technique impasto to create this stunning floral piece. The painting has four layers of oil paintings which I applied one on top of another.”
