"The word 'imperfect' often has a negative connotation whether it is a flaw or a flaw that must be corrected, concealed, or avoided at all costs. But imperfections are a necessary and very important component of our existence. The imperfections were even perfectly designed to help us learn and understand our life journey.

It is only our perception that determines whether something is perfect or not. Yet most of us strive to come as close as possible to our idea of perfection, whether in how we see ourselves or how we see people around us. We often have a hard time accepting that things don't turn out exactly the way we want them to. It can cause us to feel frustrated, depressed, unsure, or even helpless. How do we free ourselves from a perfectionist mentality and begin to accept an imperfect life in an imperfect society?

This series is a work on "letting go" by limiting the gestures made and letting go of the imperfections that I perceive. I start with a stone, and from there, I choose a limited amount of colors. All in all, there is a certain beauty and yes, a radiance that stands out despite the “flaws.” That is what I want to celebrate with this series."

France Benoit, a rising visual artist, has especially distinguished herself for her stylized encaustic works, influenced by wabi-sabi. Her art is characterized by textures, colors and shapes that can touch her audience and offer them joy and serenity. Always eager to perfect her technique, France attended many workshops and training given by professional artists. She was able to appropriate a recognizable and very appreciated personal style by her public. These years of experience and practice also allowed France to participate in many exhibitions and to be several times awarded for her works. Her presence can be noted at the Mirabel Expo-Concert, at Brilliant Moment in British Columbia, at the Propeller Gallery in Toronto and at the San Antonio Art League and Museum. She is also a newly scholar of the International Encaustic Artist. With a keen sense of composition and color, France creates expressive works that draw their inspiration from the joy of human emotions. Her passion for art and her will to share her story with the world make her an artist with an enduring career and legacy.
