“Joyful Winter in Whistler” is a celebration of nature’s quiet magic and the joy found in simply being present. Anastasia began this vibrant oil painting during a winter getaway in Whistler, surrounded by snow-covered peaks and the crisp, invigorating air of the mountains. What started as a plein air impression evolved over nearly two years in her studio, as she layered the piece with care, emotion, and intention—waiting until it truly felt complete.

Built up through four rich layers of oil paint, the surface is luxuriously thick and textured, with bold, pastose brushstrokes that pulse with energy. The vivid colors—deep blues, brilliant whites, and glowing golden tones—capture the wonder of winter and the quiet joy it brings when we take a moment to pause and truly see.

Her oil paintings have many layers of different oil paintings. Sometimes there could be up to six layers which she paints one on top of another. Her unique technique allows her to achieve incredible depth in her oil paintings and makes her works full of vivid and sumptuous colours.
