“As an artist and a person, I am constantly striving toward growth, perfection, and always wanting to do my best. This can result in being hyper-vigilant and always looking for ways to improve, taking my attention away from all the beauty that exists in the journey. Creating this painting reminded me to slow myself down, to take moments to celebrate my journey and to find beauty in the imperfections. I was able to create this message by using blues and brushstrokes that resemble water moving around with peaks of orange and yellow light shining through. The light coming through represents the hope, the harmony, and the beauty that exists when I take the time to intentionally look for it.”
