Fleeting of Life at Spanish Banks, 28" x 50"
Oil on Canvas.
The painting has four layers of paint that Anastasia methodically applied one on top of another using her oil multilayer technique. The texture of the work is extremely thick and rich, and the colours are bright and vivid.
“Fleeting of Life at Spanish Banks” features a beautiful area at the Pacific Ocean Inlet in Vancouver called Spanish Banks. In this work, Anastasia explores the notion of time and its fleeting properties. She says "if we do not pause in our sometimes hectic life, life might just pass by too fast. I believe that prioritizing time to pause and reflect could make us happier and help to see the beauty in every moment".
Award-winning Vancouver-based oil painter Anastasia Fedorova creates unique multilayer oil paintings using the traditional Renaissance Italian technique impasto. Her oil paintings have many layers of different oil paintings. Sometimes there could be up to six layers which she paints one on top of another. Her unique technique allows her to achieve incredible depth in her oil paintings and makes her works full of vivid and sumptuous colours.
